Yver Sorród is a Performer (Singer/Actor/Dancer) and Content Creator based in Albany, Louisiana (Northshore area), originally from Caracas, Venezuela. Born into a family of artists, he debuted in the Show Business as an 8-year-old child. He has a bachelor's degree in Theater from UCV (Central University of Venezuela), plus several other courses and workshops to his credit, and more than 30 years of experience, a little over half of them in Mexico, where he resided from October of 2000 to March of 2019. He has worked in a countless number of Theater plays, Music shows, Contemporary Dance shows and a bit in the Film and Television Industries in the 3 countries (Venezuela, Mexico and the USA). In the Music Industry, he started off as the Alternative Rock and Blues Band Sursum Cordas’vocalist at his early beginnings back in Venezuela. In Mexico, he worked as a Singer, Dancer and Animator for music organizations "High Society" and "Música Nueva" (New Music) performing different genres in private corporate events, weddings, etc. And from 2008 to the present, has been fully focused on Jazz as his genre, with his “Vintage” concept and signature “Golden Age” style, having to his credit as a solo artist, six shows of his own authorship, "Back in Business", "Ballroom Dreams", "Jazzy Holidays", "On the Road", "My Jazzy Valentine" and "Indigo/Intimo" in collaboration with several renowned musicians from the Mexican Jazz scene and bands like Bossa Nostra World Music, mostly in the quintet format, and also doing special guest appearances in several public and private shows with bands such as Papillon, Peter Gunn's Jazz Band, Misha Jazz & Big Band, Música Nueva Big Band, and Ensemble Sax & Jazz Big Band. In 2017 he independently launched his album of covers “Jazz… I Do!” (Produced by Espadas Records, in Mexico City) which included 9 standards in English from the Great American Songbook, 2 classic boleros in Spanish and the chanson française “Les Feuilles Mortes” (AKA as “Autumn Leaves” in its English version), and you can also find his first single, version of the classic “Georgia On My Mind” on several digital platforms such as Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Google Music and more.
